RAS’ Breast Imaging Centers have been awarded the designation of Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) by the American College of Radiology (ACR). This designation, administered by the ACR’s Commission on Quality and Safety and the Commission on Breast Imaging, recognizes a center’s dedication to improving women’s health by participating in rigorous quality assurance programs.

 In order to receive the ACR’s Breast Imaging Center of Excellence designation, a center must be fully accredited in:

  •  Mammography by the ACR (or an FDA-approved state accrediting body)
  •  Stereotactic breast biopsy by the ACR
  •  Breast ultrasound by the ACR (including the ultrasound-guided breast biopsy module)

 The BICOE award program was launched by the ACR in October of 2007. RAS completed its accreditation in the first quarter of 2008. With 8 centers in the greater Sacramento region, RAS offers comprehensive breast health services to a diverse population in a four county area. In addition to those imaging services accredited by the ACR, Radiological Associates of Sacramento also provides Breast MRI, PET / CT, PET Mammography (PEM) and Radiation Oncology services for breast cancer patients
